"Contemplation" - Painting on Silk -

SOLD. It's a rare thing to see an owl in the daylight. Their nocturnal habits usually keep them hidden from plain view. This Barred Owl doesn't look the least bit sleepy, with his unique blue eyes wide open--what's he paying attention to that is out of our field of vision?

This work has been hand-painted on silk using textile dyes instead of paints. After the painting is completed, the silk is stretched over a padded board and framed without glass to ensure the viewer can enjoy the sheen of the natural silk and dyes.
