Nature isn't always rainbows and dewdrops. Everyone's gotta eat, and most times it's not easy getting a meal. The tension in this dramatic moment is palpable. Reference photo by Joan McKinnon.

This work has been hand-painted on silk using textile dyes instead of paints. After the painting is completed, the silk is stretched over a padded board and framed in a hand-painted barn board frame without glass to ensure the viewer can enjoy the sheen of the natural silk and dyes. Framed dimensions: 28" x 19".

Care Instructions

Hand wash in warm water with a delicate soap. There will likely be color escaping. Swish it a few times and be sure not to let it sit. Add a splash of white vinegar to rinse water. Rinse again. Hang to dry. For flat scarves iron with steam. For Activity Scarves, wring out excess moisture, twist the scarf and wrap it around a towel bar to ensure you maintain the creases.
