One of the many things that Maine is famous for is its crop of wild blueberries. Hand-harvested from thousands of acres of blueberry "barrens", they are a powerhouse of nutrition, pack a wallop of taste, and are a lovely little thing to behold. This painting captures the various stages of ripening fruit right close-up, dew drops and all! Here's my haiku for them:
Maine's little blue gems
short season beauties
eat them like a bear.
Dyes are used for the painting and become an integral part of the silk fabric after it is steam set for permanency. Painting on silk is an ancient art form first practiced by the Chinese thousands of years ago on their venerable silk fabrics...a practice I am proud to carry on today.
The original artwork is framed in a silver-toned metal frame. The overall framed size is 22.5 x 14.25. This requires additional shipping costs depending on your location. Please contact me for more information. email@example.com
